TCS's billing rate system is complex rating system. We base our billing rates on a
number of factors:
-
The number of computers to support
-
The location of the company
-
The type of work needed
-
The hours needed a week or month
-
The types of servers to support
-
Are you a company or a business
-
The type of engineer you need
These factors help us determine what billing rate we will charge you or your company.
For example if a company needs us for 40 hours a week, they will get a
lower rate. If a company only needs us for one or two hours a month you get a
higher rate. If you a home user will get a lower rates. The
type of work to be performed is also a factor. Are we working on servers versus desktop
pc's?
So what will your rate be? Here are some examples:
-
A single home user with a single pc having problems. We
understand home users are on a budget. This would be our lowest rate,
around $15 to $20 an hour.
-
A home business with two PC's. They need us about 4 hours a
month. This would be around $25 to $30.
-
A small company with around ten PC's. They need us about 4
hours a week. This would be in the $40 to $50 range.
-
A large company with around fifty PC's. They want us for 40
hours a week. This would be around $25.
-
A medium company that wants us to manage and support their ten servers.
This would be around $55.
-
A new installation of a server. This would be in the $50 to
$60 range.
-
Complete restoration of all servers after a disaster. This
would be $75 to $100 an hour.
These are just some general concepts, and are subject to change, but they
should provide you with an idea of what we are aiming at.
One concept that I've had a huge problem with, is minimum hours to bill.
We've all had the tech show up our business at 2:00. He fixes the problem
by 2:10 and then leaves at 2:15... Then you get the bill for 2 hours....
What a rip off is what you think. This is a concept that I've fought with
for a long time. What is fair to the client, and what is fair to the
customer? So the general rule is a one hour minimum for locations in the
general Houston area. However if a tech has to drive 30 to 59 miles to get
to the client, there will be a 90 minute minimum. Anything over 60 miles
will be a hour for every 30 miles rounded up. In all cases, once we arrive
you will be billed by the quarter hour rounded up.
All of our clients are billed weekly. We do not sell "blocks of hours" or other
wise charge in advance of service. You don't call us, we don't bill you.
Even if you enter into a enter a maintenance agreement with us, you will be
billed once a week. However if your company wants to be billed in a
different fashion contact us and I'm sure we can negotiate terms acceptable to
both of us.
All clients are billed over the weekend. Our billing period generally ends on
Friday. So if you have work done from Thursday to Sunday, you will receive
two invoices. Invoices go out Monday morning either as Fax, Mail, or
Email. It depends on the client's preference. Invoices are due 30
days from the invoice date. Clients who regularly go over 45 days before making payments will be reduced to Net 14. All clients
with outstanding invoices more than 14 days late will be denied service until a
payment is received.
At this point payments are only accepted in the forms of Cash, or Check.
Credit Card payments will be added soon. All payments should be made out
to TCS Total Computer Solutions. Please include the invoice number on the
check. Thanks.
